Accra Hearts of Oak beat King Faisal 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium to close the gap on Kotoko to four points.
The Phobians were the dominant side but were left frustrated for much of the first period as the game ended 0-0 in the first half.
The introduction of Afriyie brought some spark to the Hearts attack and the Phobians were immediately rewarded with a great team goal and probably a goal of the season contender.
Substitute, Afriyie went past two players at the edge of the area to find Salifu, who in return lobbed the ball over the Faisal defense for Afriyie to unselfishly set up Kwabena Obeng Junior for the opening goal.
Hearts sealed the winner in the 88th minute after yet another selfless play from man of the match, Salifu to set up Afriyie to coolly slot home for the second.
