Prosper kassim scored from 30-yards out to hand Birmingham Legion a 1-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City in the USL Championship.

The 24-year old 42nd minute goal- made it two wins in two for the Alabama-based club and takes them to fourth on the table with 39 points.

The Ghanaian took advantage of a lose ball and fired past the goalkeeper to stun the stadium and keep alive their dreams of qualifying for the MLS.

Birmingham Legion are four points behind first place Pittsburgh having played two matches less.

The former U-20 player was full of praise for his team and revealed that the goal was a result of constant practice in training.

”I find myself in that spot, in most of our games, so I’ve started working on it extra in practice, and I’m glad it finally paid off in today’s game,”

”That goal felt good. We had a plan going into this game, and I think it really helped us defensively. It also put us in a good position to attack, so I think the team did a very good job today.”
