Niger Club US Gendemerie have been left stranded at the Cairo Airport after arriving for the second leg of the CAF Champions League against Al-Ahly in Cairo.

The Niger Champions who have been billed as underdogs against the record Champions League holders held the Egyptian giants to a 1-1 draw at the Seyni Kountche Stadium in Niamey in the first leg.

According to club sources, the team arrived in Cairo at 2am local time on Friday, and have been left at the Airport by officials of the Egyptian Club upon request of a yellow fever test.

Pictures that have emerged from the Cairo Airport shows officials and players of the Niger Club lying on the floor at the Airport and some taking a nap on their seat while they await for buses to convey them for the yellow fever test.

Gendemerie will pull-off the biggest shock in the history of the CAF Champions League League if they beat the Egyptian giants and progress to the group stages of the competition.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, 23rd October, 2021.
