Justice Blay made his long awaited return from injury with a goal to give Medeama their first win of the season.
The combative midfielder last featured for the Yellow and Mauves in their 2-1 victory over Legon Cities at the Akoon Park in April.
Blay suffered a fractured fibula following a heavy tackle from Joseph Addo and was left on the side-lines for close to six-months
Medeama were however boosted with the return of their talismanic midfielder as he was named in the match day squad for Karela’s visit.
The former Kotoko player made a brief cameo before the game was abandoned due to a heavy downpour with 20-minutes remaining.
The game was restarted at the Akoon Park at 10am as Medeama were determined to kick-start their season following a poor run of results that cost coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu his job.
Medeama played the remaining 20-minutes on the front foot and took the lead through Blay from the spot-kick.
The experienced midfielder showed great composure to send the keeper the wrong way and give Medeama the lead.
Patrick kofi Ansu added the second to seal the three points and give Medeama their first win of the season.
