Southampton have completed the signing of Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid for £10.9m.
The Saints triggered a buyout clause in Salisu’s contract and he has agreed a four-year deal to move to St Mary’s.
The 21-year-old will now have to undergo a 14-day quarantine period once he arrives in the UK from Spain due to coronavirus control measures.
The Real Valladolid defender has been chased by several top European clubs due to his impressive debut season in the Spanish La Liga, however, he has opted to join Southampton.
Salisu made 31 appearances in the Spanish La Liga, scored one goal and provided one assist for Real Valladolid.
The summer transfer window will run for 10 weeks from July 27 and close at 11 pm on October 5.
