The Black Stars have intensified training ahead of their opening game in the World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana will host Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday, September 3rd 2021 before travelling to Johannesburg three days later to face South Africa.

Coach Akonnor is hoping his side will begin their campaign with a positive result after Ghana missed out on the last edition of the FIFA World Cup in Russia and will hope to count on the 2,250 fans that will be admitted to the Stadium to cheer his team on.

Ghana is however aware that the Ethiopians will not be push overs as they eye their maiden qualification to the Global Showpiece.

The Walias are high in confidence after making a return to the Africa Cup of Nations since 2013.

The Black Stars will play in Group G alongside Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and South Africa
