Legon Cities left it late to earn a hard fought win against Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Royals needed a win against fellow strugglers, Liberty to boost their chances of staying in the League.
The home side failed to take advantage of the early chances that came their way and struggled to impose themselves on the game as the first half wore out.
The visitors were more relaxed and approached the half in a manner that seem they were content with the Draw
The first half ended with very little opportunities for both Sides.
The second half began like the 1st half with both sides struggling to create any decent opening.
The game seem to be heading for a still draw until Liberty stroke in the 80st minute to take the lead through Karikari.
The visitors benefitted from a lapse in concentration from the Legon Cities defense to score what seem a late winner and stun the home side.
Legon Cities however responded six minutes later after a great work from Richmond Antwi. The visitors struggled to clear their lines as substitute, Baba Mahama pounced to force an own goal.
The Home side pressed for the winner and it came in added time through their talisman, Attuquaye. The diminutive playmaker cut through the Liberty defense to slot the ball through the keeper’s legs to send the fans and players into ecstasy.
The win took the Royals to 26 points and a point above the relegation Zone
