Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, consider his post as a CEO of the premier league giant is much greater than the Ghana Football Association Presidency.
Amponsah, who was presented to the public last week in Kumasi as the new CEO of the fabulous team, unsuccessfully lost the race to become the next GFA President in the October 2019 elections that saw Kurt Simone Okraku elected president.
However, after being officially appointed as the new Kotoko Chief, Amponsah was quick to hail his new post and even compare it to the presidential seat of the GFA which he sees as less superior to his current.
“I see Asante Kotoko and no disrespect to the Ghana Football Association Presidential position which I aspired to occupy, Kotoko for me is the biggest,” he told teeming supporters at his unveiling at the Sports Hotel in Kumasi.
“If I ask you today who the president of the English FA is, you may not be able to tell me but you may be able to tell me who the Executive Chairman of Manchester United is so I do not take this responsibility lightly at all,” he concluded.
The newly elected CEO together with the club’s new 12-member board, set up in June and has been tasked to bring back the hay days of the premier league giants.
