Ghanaian youngster Kevin Danso has returned to FC Augsburg after his unsuccessful loan spell with Southampton in the English Premier League.
Danso signed a short-term contract extension with the Saints that was supposed to keep him at the club for the rest of the 2019/20 season.
However, he has failed to impress at St Mary’s Stadium, making only six appearances this season while providing one assist.
Though the English Premier League club had an option to sign him permanently this summer, they have decided to wave that option. Hence, the center-back who can play as a right-back has returned to his parent club Augsburg.
The 21-year-old is expected to discuss his future with the German Bundesliga side in the next couple of weeks.
It is understood that there are top-flight clubs in Germany after Danso’s signature but there is also the possibility of staying put with Augsburg for the next season.
