Hasaacas Ladies’ had their hopes of qualifying for the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League hit a rock after losing 2:0 in their first game against River Angels form Nigeria in Ivory Coast.
Hasmal Ladies were the best side in the early stages after kick-off, creating the first big chance of the game when Milot Pokua gave an excellent pass to Doris Boaduwaa who missed the opportunity by few inches from the post.
River Angels did not waste the first opportunity to go ahead, Abiodun Deborah gave the Nigerians an lead in the 17th minute.
They continued to surge to dominate Hasaacas defence, it paid off in the second half when they added their 10 minutes after the recess through Ezenagu Maryann.
The result leaves Hasaacas Ladies at the bottom of Group B, tagging their next game against Niger’s AS Police a must win as they need three points to stand a chance of securing qualification to Egypt.
