Former Olympics midfielder Gladson Awako is confident Accra Hearts of Oak can pip Kotoko to the title.
Kotoko lead the Premier League table after four games and remain the only side with a 100% record- having won all their four matches in the league.
Accra Hearts of Oak meanwhile, are yet to hit the ground running and are among the bottom three after failing to record a win in four matches.
The Porcupine Warriors came from a goal down to beat Dreams FC in their opening game and recorded wins against Bibiani Gold Stars, Bechem United and Techiman Eleven Wonders respectively.
Awako who is yet to feature for the Phobians since his move from city rivals Olympics is however not convinced with Kotoko and remains adamant they are yet to face a decent side in the league.
“Kotoko are yet to play Hearts and other big clubs in the current league,” Awako told Hot FM.
“They will play hearts on matchday seven and I am hoping to play at least a match before that game. I expect to feature if permitted against Kotoko and I know Hearts will hit top gear so you can’t write us off just like that since the season is still young,” he added.
Hearts could be twelve points behind Kotoko by the time they play again in the league.
The Phobians will play against their arch-rivals in their next league match with Coach Boadu’s side scheduled to play in the CAF Confederations Cup against JS Saoura.
