Serie A side Genoa has tabled a €2 million bid for the services of Trabzonspor striker Caleb Ekuban.

It is reported that negotiations are in progress between the two clubs, although Trabzonspor prefers more than the quoted amount and Genoa hope to do a deal for circa €2m.

However, he is no stranger to Italian football, as he was born and raised in Italy to Ghanaian parents, in Villafranca di Verona, and came up through the Chievo youth academy.

Among the clubs he represented in the Peninsula are Chievo, Lumezzane and Renate.

He also played for FK Partizani Tirana, Leeds United and moved to Trabzonspor in 2018.

Playing primarily on the right side of attack, but able to take a more central or left role as well, he scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 33 competitive games for Trabzonspor this season.

Ekuban, 27, Ghana international with three goals in nine senior caps.
